The hours after a wedding can make a major difference in bouquet preservation. Flowers continue losing moisture after the event, especially when they have been carried, photographed, exposed to heat, or left without water.

A little preparation helps your preservation artist receive flowers in the best condition possible.

Return the bouquet to clean water

Place the stems in clean, cool water as soon as possible. Remove anything wrapped tightly around the lowest portion of the stems if it prevents them from reaching the water. Keep ribbons and meaningful bouquet details safe if you would like us to consider including them.

Keep the flowers cool

Store the bouquet in a cool, secure place away from direct sunlight, heaters, hot vehicles, and freezing temperatures. Do not place flowers directly against ice and do not freeze the bouquet.

Plan delivery quickly

Bouquets should reach the studio ideally within 2 to 5 days and no later than 7 days after the event. Earlier is usually better, especially for delicate flowers or arrangements exposed to summer heat.

Local drop off in Reno

For local transportation, keep the bouquet upright in a vase with water whenever possible. Another option is to wrap the stem ends in a damp cloth and secure them inside a sealed plastic bag so moisture stays around the stems rather than touching the flowers.

Pressed Petals Studio accepts local drop offs by appointment at 24 Winter Street in Reno, Nevada.

Shipping your bouquet

Clients shipping flowers receive detailed instructions after placing an order. Follow those instructions closely because packing methods vary based on flower condition, weather, distance, and the day the package will travel.

Do not ship a bouquet without confirming studio availability. A delay caused by a closed studio, weekend delivery, incorrect address, or missed reservation can affect the flowers.

What should be included?

Include only the bouquet materials discussed in your preservation instructions. Keep personal items, jewelry, sentimental pins, and anything irreplaceable unless we have confirmed that it should travel with the flowers.

What happens when the bouquet arrives?

We assess the flowers, select the blooms and greenery that are suitable for the frame, and begin preparation. Natural bruising, age, moisture, and flower variety can affect the final result.
